Debit Card Controls

Armed Forces Bank's Debit Card Controls offer a robust interface to freeze your card if lost or stolen, access card details, manage transactions, set location and merchant controls, and so much more.
 
You will need Mobile or Online Banking. Download the Mobile App (Mobile carrier fees may apply.) Once you are authenticated to Digital Banking, access Card Controls via Menu > Debit Card Controls.
Card Controls are a free service that gives you complete control over your debit card, including the ability to turn your debit card ON or OFF using the Freeze feature which will block all transactions except those on autopay.  

Other card management features include:

Card Details – Now get secure access to your card number, expiration date and CVV.   

Location Controls – A new region shield feature lets you limit card transactions to a defined geographic area. In addition, you can authorize international transactions in specific countries.  

Notifications - The new card controls offers a new interface for Notifications management and provides more options for the control of card alerts across transactions.   

Spending Insights – This feature offers an aggregate view of spending across your debits cards to show where you money is going per month, per spending categories and merchants. 

Digital Wallet Integration - This will allow you to push your debit card into the digital wallet of your mobile device from within the mobile app without having to manually enter card information.   

Change Card Pin – You now can change your PIN for your card within Card Management.

Log into Online or Mobile Banking. Select Menu > Debit Card Controls to get started. If you do not have an Online or Mobile Banking account, you will need to enroll in order to manage your Debit Card with Card Controls. (Mobile carrier fees may apply).

We released a new version of card controls on August 10, 2026. Please review your current card controls and update settings as needed. Card Alerts established in the old system will carry over to the new Debit Card Controls.  
After logging into Mobile or Online Banking, go to Menu > Debit Card Controls. Select the My Cards button and the card you want to manage, and then you may select the Freeze icon and enable a freeze on that card. Freeze will turn the card off for all new transaction but will keep any autopay transactions running.  
Card Controls are free to use and part of Armed Forces Bank's standard digital banking features. You may incur fees from your mobile carrier if you choose to receive text alerts and data rates may apply. 
Log into Online or Mobile Banking. If you do not have Online or Mobile Banking, you will need to enroll before you can set up Debit Card Notifications. Notification Settings are only available through the App and will not show in Online Banking.
  

To set up Debit Card Notification Alerts, go to Menu > Debit Card Controls then select the My Cards Button and then the More Setting icon (looks like four blocks) in the top right corner above your card.  Select the link for Notification Settings. This will allow you to manage basic transaction notifications for each card. Select Add Alert button to set up specific alerts for transaction types, location-based alerts and merchant categories.  

Yes, select Debit Card Controls from the navigation menu, select My Cards button and all your debit cards will show up in the carousel. Click on each card from the carousel to manage controls for that card.   
No, your recurring transactions and/or autopay will not be blocked. They will continue to be processed even if your card is Frozen. When freezing your card, all future purchase transactions will be blocked. 
If you have misplaced your debit card, use Debit Card Controls > My Cards > Freeze to Freeze the card. This will prevent any unauthorized use of the card. When you find your card, use Debit Card Controls to Un-Freeze the card. If you cannot find your debit card or feel like it has been stolen, keep it frozen and report it lost or stolen by calling 1-800-754-4128. We can securely cancel the card and issue a new card for you.  
When you make changes to your card with Debit Card Controls, the changes go into effect immediately. Freezing your card will block all future transactions on that card protecting you from any fraud. Un-Freezing your card will enable all future transactions to flow through. Debit Card Controls gives you complete control over your Debit Card. 
On August 10, 2026, we migrated to a new Card Controls platform. The new Card Controls platform brings new features to allow you to manage your debit cards and provides a new online and app interface for these controls.  All alerts set on the old platform will carry over to the new platform.  However, now is a good time to review your card controls settings and notifications and tailor them to your needs.
