Military Early Pay FAQ

The Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) send your pay electronically to Armed Forces Bank before your “official” payday. Military Early Pay allows you access to your direct deposited funds from DFAS one business day before the actual pay date.

If your pay date falls on a weekend or holiday, you will have access two business days prior.
We process DFAS direct deposits during nightly processing. Your pay will be available at the start of business one business day before the actual pay date.
If you have automatic transfers/payments that occur when your direct deposit is posted, they will still post as you have established them on the your selected date of transfer.

In situations where we do not receive your payment information ahead of time, Armed Forces Bank cannot post your deposit early. Instead, your direct deposit will be posted on your normal payday or as soon as we receive it.

We recommend that you do not write checks or authorize any other withdrawals against your directly deposited funds until you verify that they have been posted to your account. You are responsible for any overdraft fees from transactions clearing before your payroll deposit.

The easiest way to be notified of your direct deposit is with Account Alerts in Digital Banking. Log in and go to Settings then Alerts to create a New Alert or manage an existing Alert.
