Learn more about how to use chip cards and the benefits of EMV chip technology below.
Increased security = decreased fraud
When inserted in a chip-enabled terminal, your card’s chip will generate a one-time use code that’s required for each transaction to be approved. Virtually impossible to counterfeit, this code helps reduce fraud and increases the payment system’s security.
Simple to use
First, simply insert the chip card into the terminal, then leave it there until the transaction is complete.
If the terminal is not chip-enabled, the card still has a magnetic stripe on the back, so you can swipe it. Whether inserting or swiping, you never need to worry about unauthorized transactions. Visa’s Zero Liability Policy1 will help protect you.
