2021 Military Holiday Spending Survey Reveals How Military Respondents are Approaching Holiday Shopping

Shoppers Consider the Potential for Supply Chain Issues and Empty Shelves

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (November 29, 2021) – Armed Forces Bank, a full-service military bank committed to serving those who serve since 1907, today released its first annual holiday survey to its military customers. It reveals how military respondents are approaching holiday shopping given the potential for supply chain issues and empty shelves.

The poll surveyed 284 individuals and found that 63.7% fell into a "concerned" or "very concerned" category -- meaning they chose a 6 or above on a scale of 1-10 -- about shipping times and product availability. It also found that 57.7% of respondents have already started their holiday shopping.

As far as gifts, 29.1% of respondents will be purchasing holiday gifts for 10+ people, with 35.7% of shopping being conducted online, 31.8% in-store, and 32.5% doing both and 57.4% of military personnel prefer to give gifts over gift cards.
