Mobile Banking Security

Yes, Mobile Banking is very safe to use. Just like Online Banking, Mobile Banking:

  • Uses 128-bit SSL encryption, which basically protects and encrypts any transmission of data, including your account information.
  • Uses strong firewalls, which prevent malicious or unauthorized intrusion.
  • Requires your access ID and password to access your account. After three incorrect attempts from your mobile device, your account will lock down.

On top of this, smartphones like Android™ and iPhone® have very secure, controlled operating systems. Please note that text messages are not secure, which is why we will never send your account number or name via text message. For more information, see our education topic Mobile Security Tips.

Yes, mobile check deposit offers the same level of security you have with Online Banking. The images of your checks are never stored on your mobile phone for added protection.

  • Notify your phone service provider immediately so your device can be disabled. This will help reduce the risk of someone accessing your information.
  • Log into Online Banking and remove your mobile phone number from your Mobile Banking profile. Or call us at (888) 929-2265.
  • As always, we recommend you regularly monitor your accounts for any suspicious activity. Call us at (888) 929-2265 right away if you notice anything that concerns you.
