Heroes Round Up Donation Program: Hope For The Warriors

Heroes Round Up donation program for Hope For The Warriors.

Our commitment to the military community runs deeper than banking—this is who we are. Armed Forces Bank is proud to welcome Hope For The Warriors as our newest Heroes Round Up partner.

If you are already enrolled, you can now choose to direct your round-up charity donations to Hope For The Warriors. This nonprofit supports veterans, service members, and military families across the United States. Donating your spare change can make a real difference for the men and women who have served our country.

What is the Heroes Round Up Program at Armed Forces Bank?

When you sign up for Heroes Round Up, your Armed Forces Bank debit card automatically adjusts each purchase to the nearest dollar (or higher, if you choose). That extra change goes straight to the organization you choose.

How it works: If you spend $47.15 at the gas station, then $0.85 is set aside for donation. And if you stop at the convenience store for a purchase of $6.55, another $0.45 goes to your favorite cause.

It’s that simple! No writing checks. No setting reminders. No extra steps. You just use your debit card like you normally would, and Heroes Round Up handles the rest. It’s the best way to donate money—you don’t even have to think about it.

Through this program, Armed Forces Bank clients support nonprofits like Hope For The Warriors and Veterans Community Project.

What is Hope For The Warriors?

Hope For The Warriors (HOPE) started in 2006, and it was founded by a group of military spouses who witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by service members after deployment or war. The members were injured, struggling, and often without enough support.

The military spouses wanted to do something about it, and their goal was straightforward: to restore stability, strength, and community.

Hope For The Warriors started with hospital visits, phone trees, and 5K races. Since then, it has adapted its services to address the most emergent needs of the military community. HOPE stands as a national nonprofit today, serving over 187,000 service members, veterans, and military family members. Every year, more veterans and families are reaching out for support. In 2024 alone, the need for HOPE’s service grew by 23%.

Supporting the Military Community

Hope For The Warriors offers programs and services that support the military community in many ways—because the needs of veterans and military families don’t fit into just one box. Here are some impact areas:

  • Health & Wellness: HOPE connects veterans with licensed professionals for physical and mental health support—from injury recovery to PTSD and TBI. They focus on the whole person, not just one challenge.
  • Sports & Recreation: Getting active plays a big role in healing. HOPE’s sports programs help warriors rebuild confidence, find their footing, and feel part of a team again.
  • Career & Education: Leaving the military and starting a civilian career is not easy. HOPE helps veterans and their spouses take the next steps, whether that includes landing a new job or going back to school to further their education.
  • Peer Support & Community: Sometimes, the best person to talk to is someone who has been there. HOPE connects veterans with peers who understand the realities of military service.

Delivering Impact

Hope For The Warriors has earned a Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator 14 years in a row—the highest rating available. In fact, 90 cents out of every dollar donated goes directly to their programs and services for veterans and their families.

HOPE by the Numbers:

  • 187,000+ service members, veterans, and family members served since 2006
  • 253+ wishes granted from A Warrior’s Wish® program
  • $640,000+ awarded through Military Spouse and Caregiver Scholarships
  • Four-Star Charity Navigator Rating
  • 23% increase in demand for services in 2024

Why Round Up Purchases to Donate?

Many people want to give to charity and nonprofits, but they don’t know where to start. Or sometimes, it’s hard to fit donations into your budget. Debit card round up programs exist for this exact reason!

Instead of making one large donation, you are giving a little during every transaction. A few cents here, a few cents there. Over time, those small amounts add up to create a meaningful impact. And because the donations are tied to purchases you are already making, it becomes part of your routine.

Banks that round up debit card purchases (like Armed Forces Bank) are making it easy for community members to support causes they care about—in a straightforward, accessible way. You don’t need to write a big check. You just need to enroll in the right debit card round up program, then let those small increments do the heavy lifting.
