Heroes Round Up Donation Program: Help for Homeless Veterans

Heroes Round Up donation program makes it easy to round up purchases for charity and support our veterans.

At Armed Forces Bank, supporting the military community isn’t just something we do—this is who we are. Since 1907, we have built strong relationships with military families, veterans, and service members based on trust and dedication. Now, we are proud to launch our Heroes Round Up Program, a simple yet impactful way to strengthen our commitment and give back to those who have served our country. Learn more about the Heroes Round Up Program and how your spare change can make a real difference in ending veteran homelessness.

What is the Heroes Round Up Program?

Heroes Round Up makes it easy for Armed Forces Bank clients to create positive change with their everyday transactions. When you enroll in the program, you use a debit card that rounds up purchases to the nearest dollar (or higher, if you prefer). For example, if you buy a coffee for $4.25, then $0.75 will be set aside for donation. If you purchase groceries for $63.50, another $0.50 is donated. It’s a simple way to make a difference with every purchase!

For the launch of the program, your extra change goes directly to the Veterans Community Project (VCP), providing life-changing resources for veterans. Small contributions, BIG IMPACT—that's what Heroes Round Up is all about.

Spotlight on Veterans Community Project

At the heart of Heroes Round Up is our proud partnership with Veterans Community Project (VCP), a nonprofit that shares our commitment in helping U.S. military veterans find lasting empowerment and stability. As one of the fastest-growing veteran support organizations in the country, VCP is deepening its impact and expanding its reach in 7 cities (Kansas City, St. Louis, Sioux Falls, Longmont, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, and Glendale).

VCP’s mission is simple: veterans housing veterans, armed with the strength of the community. They offer walk-in support services and transitional housing to any veteran, regardless of discharge status or service type. Their innovative tiny house communities have transformed countless lives, giving veterans not just a place to live, but a place to call home.

As of early 2024, more than 32,000 veterans were experiencing homelessness and 1.2 million were living in poverty. Today, the work of the Veterans Community Project is more crucial than ever. Thanks to their efforts, thousands of veterans have moved out of homelessness and are receiving essential support services.

VCP Impact at a Glance:

  • 8,911 life-changing services provided nationwide
  • 5,926 pantry boxes, hygiene kits, and snack bags distributed to veterans and their families
  •  85% of Veterans in VCP Villages successfully transition to sustainable, long-term housing of their own

Through our partnership, Armed Forces Bank hopes to continue this critical work. Every penny raised through Heroes Round Up goes directly toward fixing veteran homelessness, funding innovative housing solutions, and providing life-changing support services.
